Persevering At Cross Stitch.

Filed under: Cross Stitch — by crossstitchtips @ 3:21 pm

Why not try to do a cross stitch, my friend said one afternoon. The rain hitting hard against the windows again and all I have done for the last hour is complain at how bored I am. I can’t sew, barley knit, so why, when I have the patients of a saint (not) would I want to do that I ask them. After me moaning and complaining for the next two hours I agree to try it. I have my reasons, I thought it would stop them nagging at me, but no how wrong I was the next day of we went shopping. (great)

After looking at some of the cross stitch kits, I started to get quite interested. Obviously I did not show this though, I eventually choose a tigger design, but I could not wait until I got home so opened it as soon as we were back in the car, even though I was told not to but people who Know me, know that I am like a bull in a china shop, and on doing this scattered everything over the back seats of the car, (oops). Anyway on getting the I told you so look, packed it back up and waited until I was back home.

The first thing I did was to read the instructions very carefully, and do what they say, I find that real hard to master, any way I thought here goes nothing.

I must admit and I must add that again this is one of the things I do not do well, how relaxing this was, I found myself totally committed and took pride in what little I had done, by the effect it was all ready having, It was well passed midnight when I thought that I should put it down until tomorrow , though I could have carried on all night if I did not have to go to work the next day. OK it took me about a week to do what others could have done in one evening, and yes there are a few stitches wrong, but hey, so what, I did it myself from start to finish, chuffed to bits or what.

That was five years ago now and I have done a lot more cross stitch projects and really enjoyed doing them I hope you do to.
